Switches the underlying basemap; your markers, overlays and live layers stay on.
▶ Infrastructure (OIM)
Power plants by type — worldwide
Dot size = capacity (MW). Off by default; coverage depends on OSM tagging (varies by country).
All plants, all zoom levels — WRI (static 2021)
Operating plants — GEM GIPT (2025)
⚠ First enable downloads a ~24 MB file and parses it in your browser — give it a few seconds to appear (watch the status above). Cached after that.
GEM trackers — non-power infrastructure
Live GeoJSON from GEM's CDN. Colored by status (operating red, proposed blue, cancelled green, closed orange, retired/shelved grey). Each loads on first tick, then caches. Complements GIPT (which covers power plants).
GEM trackers — power plants & other (individual)
Individual GEM trackers as live GeoJSON, colored by status. GIPT (integrated) already consolidates the power types below; the individual ones let you isolate a single fuel. The XLSX GIPT option above stays available too.

USGS 3DEP bare-earth DEM (US, rendered on demand)
One elevation service, thirteen renderings, each computed per request — so these are slower than cached tiles and can time out under load; reselect if tiles come back missing. No scale gate, so they draw at every zoom, down to 1 m lidar detail where it exists. With ANY of these active, Click Coords reports the bare-earth elevation in metres at the point you tap.
