Curated CSV rows (Name, States, PathType, Scenery…) are matched to harvested trails by name and state; matched trails get a ★ and the curated categories. Unmatched rows are listed without geometry.

Wikidata and Wikipedia are free and keyless. A trail's own wikidata tag is used directly; otherwise several name variants are searched, candidates are scored on fuzzy name similarity, distance from the trail and what kind of thing they are, and the best guess is pinned. Other close candidates appear in the detail pane; pick one to override. Pins are blue for Wikidata, red for Google. Results are cached in this browser, so Google bills each trail once.
